Tasting note: This is one of the few wines to display more than a trace of reduction and here it's enough to overshadow the underlying fruit though I would not expect it to persist for long. More interesting are the finer but not denser flavors that evidence even more prominent minerality on the beautifully persistent, highly refined, youthfully austere and lingering finish. This isn't necessarily qualitatively better than the Caillerets but the innate class of Puligny is evident. Sweet Spot. Outstanding.—Allen Meadows
