Expressive nose of blackcurrants, parma violets and spices all with such a sweet nuance. Great quality to the tannins here, they're ripe and mouth coating but fine and well defined. This is high toned with pure strawberry and red cherry fruit balanced by a mineral chalky-textured core. I love the combination of fruit, density, chewiness and acidity. This is sculpted with lots of promise. A delicate style but with clear focus and intensity all with a slight voluptuousness in the expansiveness of the fruit. Joyful.-Georgina Hindle, Decanter
The 2019 Vray Croix de Gay comes from a Pomerol estate I know well, though for some inexplicable reason I have not tasted recent vintages. That is obviously now rectified. It has a lovely bouquet, very pure and expressive with red cherries, wild strawberry, flecks of brown spices and loamy notes that emerge with aeration. The palate is cohesive and smooth, the fine tannins framing the red berry fruit laced with truffle and ferrous notes. It is quintessentially Pomerol and it should age well. It is nice to be reacquainted. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Quite floral, with red pit fruits, spice, earth and assorted forest leaves. Elegant, silky, soft and polished. Medium-bodied, fresh and focused on the sweetness and purity in the fruits, the wine leaves you with freshness, and energy in the silky, cherry, plum, cocoa and espresso filled finish.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider
The 2019 Vray Croix de Gay is deep garnet-purple colored. It springs with bold Morello cherries, fresh blackberries, and wild blueberries plus violets and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, it is firm and fine grained with a lively line and lifted finish.-Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
A fragrant nose of blackberries, blueberries, cassis, dried lemon, milk chocolate and baking spices. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins. Rich, round and balanced with a silky, creamy texture. Spicy chocolate and fruity character at the finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink from 2024.-James Suckling
