Extremely impressive, with beautifully balanced, harmonious sweet fruit on the palate. Medium ruby-red, ripe cherry and cassis aromas, medium-bodied, with rich, velvety fruit flavors, full, soft tannins and a powerful finish. - James Suckling, Wine Spectator
Pale tawny, still with some distinct redness. Very delicate aromatics with the spirit aromas at the forefront, though it is not fiery or ‘spirity’. Stony notes and some earthy, woodiness and a Christmas-cake note that builds in the glass. On the palate, the fruit is starting to fade, with its dried strawberry and cherry flavours just about holding on to the peppery, brandy notes. Fair length of chocolate at the finish though – certainly not dead yet!-Tim Jackson MW, JancisRobinson, tasted 09/20
