Tasting note: Here too there is a touch of green tea character present on the spicy and overtly floral nose of essence of red berries, all of which is trimmed in an almost invisible application of wood. The super-sleek medium-bodied flavors possess a satiny texture along with the hallmark minerality of a classic Arvelets, all wrapped in slightly less austere, balanced and sappy finale. This includes two trays of grapes from Hervelets. A pretty and bright lighter purple. Gentle red berry fruits on the nose, then the 1er Cru quality shows as the fruit extends significantly on the palate. More strawberry flavours here, 20% whole bunch vinification adding a nuance but is far from dominating. A long finish with a touch of sucrosity. Drink from 2026-2030. The 2021 Fixin Les Arvelets 1er Cru has a peppery bouquet in part thanks to the 20% whole bunches. Fine delineation, though this demands a bit of aeration to cohere. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine delineation quite poised and sorbet fresh with candied orange peel mixed with hints of pain d'épice on the finish.
