This has a lovely, concentrated blackberry fruit up front and plenty of tannic grip on the palate. Resist the temptation to drink right away, as this will surely last. This emblematic cuvée from Amélie Berthaut comes from a beautiful, stony parcel of 1.3ha of vines that average 60 years of age. She vinified the fruit in concrete with one-third whole clusters after a cold soak. Extraction was gentle, with punching down only at the end of fermentation. The wine will not be racked until bottling.--Charles Curtis MW, Decanter
12 barrels instead of 30 in a normal crop, with 30% stems retained. Rather a riper fruit on the nose. And there is a density of red and black fruit notes on the palate, with relatively high acidity behind, though the wine has not yet fully come together. Tasted: November 2021.--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
