Bright medium red. The aromas of black cherry, blackberry and menthol show a medicinal reserve. Superconcentrated, chewy and fresh, offering a near-perfect balance of primary fruits and saline, soil-driven minerality. Jadot waited longer than in past years to harvest their fruit in ChambolleMusigny, said Barnier, noting that this represents "a bit of a change in our pattern." This very rich, long Bonnes-Mares is
wonderfully sweet and full, not to mention surprisingly tastable at this early stage. -- Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
Note: 100% from the Chambolle side that combines about one-third terres rouges and the remainder from terres blanches
Tasting note: This is almost always one of Jadot's best wines and so it is again in 2014 with its softly spicy nose that combines notes of sandalwood and earth with those of both red and dark berries and a discreet application of oak. There is excellent richness, size, weight and power to the full-bodied and admirably concentrated flavors that are shaped by a very firm tannic spine on the hugely long, austere and beautifully well-balanced finale. Once again, patience required. Outstanding. Don’t Miss. –Allen Meadows, Burghound
