Very floral with black currant and black cherry aromas with hints of lavender. Floral. Medium-bodied with firm and silky tannins that show beautiful length and polish. Goes on for a long time for the vintage. Classy. Drink after 2026.- James Suckling
The 2021 Malescot St. Exupéry is beautiful—a wine that isn't trying to be too much in this challenging vintage. Floral aromatics and silky tannins give this mid-weight edition of Malescot quite a bit of charm. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Crushed flowers, dark red/purplish fruit, mint, spice and a dash of orange peel linger. This is nicely done. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The 2021 Malescot St. Exupery has turned out nicely in its fleshy, flamboyant style, bursting with aromas of dark berries, cherries and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with supple tannins and a lively core of fruit, it's a strong effort. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
Flowers, espresso, licorice and black cherries line the perfume. The palate is supple, creamy, and vibrant with touch of savory herbs and oak that accompanies the plums and dark cocoa-dusted cherries in the mid-palate and in the finish. Drink from 2027-2050.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider, tasted 3/24
The 2021 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry is rock-solid in the vintage, with a plump, medium-bodied, nicely textured style. Red and blue fruits, tobacco, spice, and some leafy herb notes all define the aromatics, and it has enough concentration and class to evolve for 10-12 years, if not longer. The blend is 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, aged 12-14 months in barrel.-Jeb Dunnuck
High-toned and almost sharp fruit aspects on the palate but reigned back by freshness and fine tannins that provide a soft, supportive base. There is concentration but not so much weight in the mid-palate at the moment, rather the flavours are more lifted and aerial giving tone and nuance without so many layers. A little bit rustic also on the finish with some green pepper, clove and cinnamon coming through. Will no doubt harmonise and expand over ageing. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
Attractive smoky oak, well handled grilled smoke aromatics. This is rich but harmonious and balanced and goes long on the Margaux floral aromatics. Soft on the finish but lots to enjoy. Harvest September 30 to October 20. An enjoyable wine in the vintage from owner Jean-Luc Zuger. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Mid to dark crimson. Sweet, seductive nose. Very gentle tannins which lurk rather than dominate. A wine that really does taste like a young wine – and a young Margaux at that – that will blossom. Dry but not too drying finish. Neat. Very classic claret with sufficient but not excessive ripeness. Though there is nothing remotely flashy about it and I may be being too generous with my score; its charms are quite subtle. And it’s not especially concentrated. A ‘fluid’ wine… Some may criticise it for its lack of weight.-Jancis Robinson
