Similarly colored to the classic cuvée, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Quet is 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. It offers a huge, rich, powerful style that never goes over the top and stays balanced and graceful. Currants, toasted spices, caramelized beef, and exotic notes all flow to a massively textured, powerhouse of a wine that has a stacked mid-palate, a bombastic personality, and a great finish. It needs two to three years of bottle age but is an incredible, heady, powerful wine. Jeb Dunnuck
Cassis and blueberry flavors are juicy and mouthfilling in this buoyant, fruity wine. It's a glossy, silken sip, but anchored by a stalwart grip of tannins. Enjoyable in youth for its lipsmacking fruit it should gain finesse and savoriness through 2030. — Anna Lee C. Iijima, Wine Enthusiast
Deep in color, the wine pops with ripe, juicy, dark, sweet, spicy, round, peppery fruits. Silky, lush and powerful, graceful, fresh and long, this is just great juice! This should age quite nicely. The wine was made from blending 80% Grenache with 20% Mourvedre-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider
Deep crimson. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, incense and smoky minerals, and a sexy floral topnote builds as the wine opens up. Alluringly sweet, deeply concentrated raspberry, boysenberry, lavender pastille and spicecake flavors become livelier as the wine stretches out. Displays superb delineation and bright, spicy thrust on an impressively long, sweet finish framed by supple, slowbuilding tannins-Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media
