The 2018 Champagne Cuvée Ephemère Extra Brut is entirely Chardonnay coming from the Grand Cru villages of Oger, Avize, and Cramant. Pouring a bright straw hue, it’s pure with aromas of fresh pear, wet stone, fresh flowers, and lemon zest. Focused and bright on the palate, it remains approachable, although it has a focused, mineral-tinged texture that feels racy on the palate, a silky, soft texture, and vibrant acidity without feeling harsh. It has a beautiful energy throughout, balanced with ripe fruit, a svelte, medium-bodied frame, and a lively mousse. Drink 2023-2030. - AF, JebDunnuck
The 2018 Éphémère 018 is 100% Chardonnay from Avize, Oger and Cramant. Brisk and airy, the 2018 shows plenty of Cotes des Blancs salinity. Crushed rocks, white pepper, mint, slate and sage are finely cut. Dosage is low, at 2 grams per liter, which also helps emphasize sleek lines. For my palate, the 2018 is a bit too stark, too austere, but it makes up for that to some extent with its persistence. It will be interesting to see where this goes. -- Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Fred Savart and 5 longtime friends noticed in 2014 that there were prime vineyards in Champagne that were not being adequately appreciated. The team includes: Fred Savart, Philippe & Manu and Champagne Drémont with holdings mainly in the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Oger & Mesnil).
