A firm, tightly wound red, with black cherry, black currant, tar and mineral aromas and flavors wrapped in a compact structure. Racy, extending on the aftertaste with fruit, mineral and spice elements. This is intense and pretty much closed for now. Best from 2025 through 2048. From France. —B.S., Wine Spectator Hot Wine
Tasting note: As it usually is, this is at once more elegant and a bit more aromatically complex with its agreeably spicy mix of red and dark cherry, warm earth and floral top note. Here too there is excellent volume to the delicious medium weight flavors that possess both fine verve and minerality, both of which carry over to the balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This isn't as powerful as the Corton but it's notably finer. A qualitative choice. Sweet Spot.--Allen Meadows, Burghound
The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is aged in 50% new oak, like the Premier Crus. It has a more perfumed bouquet, a little more cohesive, with darker fruit (black plum and black currant) and just a touch of India ink in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, quite tight and linear at the moment, but it shows a little more finesse on the finish than the Corton. Very fine.-- Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Full crimson, not purple-black here. Smooth and graceful bouquet. Deep red cherry, a certain sucrosity, fruit loads the front of the palate then proceeds gracefully to the back. Just enough acidity, but quite different in style to the Corton. Apricots too. 14.6% and pH 3.50. Tasted: October 2020—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
